Bob Bundgaard

Now that summer is here, I find there are too many things to do.  I'd like to paint the garage floor.  But, before I can do that it needs a major cleaning.  Before I can clean, I have to decide what I want to keep, and what I want to throw.  Before I can decide what I want to throw, I have to consider whether there is any conceivable future need.  You see, in the past I have thrown things that later I could have used.  That for me is irritating.  You see I'm cheap.  My father says I'm as cheap as my grandfather was.  For me, that's a badge of honor.  So, I keep things, which means the garage looks like Carthage after the Romans finished with it.  Very Occasionally, I can overcome my hesitency and actually pitch.  I form a keep pile, and, I form a pitch pile.  But, before I actually pitch anything I check with Carol.  Now, that can be a problem, because Carol's sense of value is even stronger than mine.   Among our keepsakes is a boys Huffy bicycle which was old when we got it in 1980.  There could be grandchildren and they could use a thing like that when they come to visit.
