Green tip of the day
LED lights use a fraction of the energy of regular incandescent bulbs; they last longer and use less power. In addition, they really aren't that much more expensive. Electric lighting burns up to 25% of the average home energy budget. The electricity used over the lifetime of a single incandescent bulb costs 5 to 10 times the original purchase price of the bulb itself.

From 1930 to today:
The World had 2 ½ billion people in 1930 as compared to more than 6 billion now. There was room for everyone. There was much to draw from, i.e. topsoil, fish in the streams, game in the field. There was an abundance, so that people weren't into conserving. The depression was a product of economic blundering. We thought we'd never run out of whatever we might need.
