This is the second blog I've ever written. The first one was easy... I just told in capsule form how I came to work here at KLKS.  I posted that baby and was sure it would hold up till I retired.  Wrong!

Now, the powers that be have sent memos asking for more.
OK... With Spring just around the corner, here are some 50 year old memories on marbles and baseball:

When I was in elementary school, you could buy marbles at the Ben Franklin store, get them in a cereal box, or win them in a game my pals and I called “Pots.”  If your shooter made it in the hole first, you won all the other marbles in the game.  We played from when our “King on the Hill” snow melted until it was dry enough out there on the playground for baseball. My favorite baseball team on the radio was the Brooklyn Dodgers with Duke Snider in center-fielder.  I was thrilled when he made the Hall of Fame.  My all-time favorite sportscaster was Mel Allen. My Louisville slugger bat just needs to be dusted, and I've still got all of my marbles.  Wanna play?
